What is BBL® Phototherapy?

Many times, we hear you’re stuck with the skin you’re in. While that is technically true, that doesn’t mean you have to accept all of the skin’s characteristics and natural impurities. With BBL® Phototherapy, you can say goodbye to wrinkles, dark spots, and acne, and hello to higher self-confidence.

What is Phototherapy & What Does It Treat?

Phototherapy is the practice of using a broadband light (BBL) to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, freckles, acne, texture, excess hair, sun spots, small vessels, and loose skin. The technique uses short beams of light targeted at irregular skin, ultimately removing skin impurities layer by layer.

While most popularly done on the face, treatment can be done on nearly any part of your body. This includes the neck, back, arms, legs, buttocks, and abdomen.

It is important to note that treatments are not a one-time deal. Multiple sessions may be needed depending on your skin type and personal skin goals.

Sciton BBL®

At Wellness Revolution, we use BBL by Sciton, or Broadband Light – a non-ablative “laser” used to remedy vascular lesions, acne, rosacea, brown spots, redness, eliminate hair growth, and more.

At our office, we have the Scion mJOULE™, an all-in-one machine – “a dual-module platform with a compact footprint, offering treatment brands for the prejuvenation market that deliver impressive results anywhere on the body.”

Additionally, and maybe more importantly, the BBL HERO (High Energy Rapid Output™), offers nine different wavelength filters to provide a variety of customizable treatment applications in one. It boasts 4x speed for faster sessions, 3x peak power, and 2x cooling for fast and effective, comfortable treatments.

That’s not all! We are excited to start giving you the skin of your dreams, featuring wavelength filters Forever Young BBL (brown and red spots), Forever Clear BBL (for acne) and Forever Bare BBL (for hair removal).

What to Expect During Treatment

Overall, treatments are fast and comfortable. A topical anesthetic and/or a cooling gel will be applied during your procedure. This is not an invasive treatment, meaning zero needles are needed and only a warmness over the treated area will be felt. While some areas may be sensitive, pain is often not present. For utmost safety, goggles will be worn during the process. This type of procedure is generally loved due to its ease and effectiveness as the results speak for themselves.

We are now offering Sciton BBL phototherapy treatments! To book your consultation with Stephanie, call Wellness Revolution at (540) 812-2263.
